We are finally in and getting settled into our new home in Norwich. We have already started decorating two rooms.

The middle room is well on the way. Just need to decide on colours. I like the Victorian shades. We are thinking maybe feature wall of teal in this room. The 1970’s bricks have been removed and I have given it a quick coat of Magnolia. We need some more skirting board and to make a decision on the floor. The original wooden floor boards are under the laminate, so we’re thinking of restoring them. I think we will leave the fireplace very plain in here with a fire basket in the opening.

Front lounge:

Quick coat of paint and went over the lime green with a dark red. We are on the hunt for a Victorian fireplace to replace the 70’s fire surround we removed. Added a ceiling rose, to give this room some more character. Added curtain pole. I always feel curtains make a room more homely.

Long term with we will replace carpet and door.

After – Anyone selling a fireplace? We took draw out of bottom drawer of this cabinet and put it on hinges to hide the ugly DVD player. We have ordered longer cables for TV, so should be able to hide those cables soon.

Next is to finish off plans for the extension and get planning permission.. We need recommendations for builders please as my Dad is long retired now out of the business.
