I was lucky enough to get invited to visit Imagine Spa in Blofield and I must say it was heaven! It is hidden away in a country house down a little dirt track. Sadly, because they are a franchise they really don’t shine as well as they should on google search and their website. Franchises often don’t allow their staff their own Twitter or blog, which I think is a big mistake as this place was absolutely lovely and really personal. Not at all like any other spa I have been to. They only ever have a max of 16 people in the spa at one go, so it’s a very intimate and private place. If you have been avoiding spas because you are too worried about your wobbly bits and lots of people, then this is definitely the place for you! The staff were all lovely and I felt instantly relaxed the moment I arrived.

They only open on Tuesday nights for special events and tonight was Claire Bunton’s image consultants talk on which dress shape you should be wearing. This was fabulous and I believe I must for every man and women to have done. Claire offers a half day consultation where she will come to your house and talk you through which dress shape/colours suit you best. At the moment this is £130 (as of Nov 2014). After the consultation, she will send you a style booklet she makes for you. This will be about 15-20 pages long and be your bible when shopping. In the spa after Claire’s presentation, there was a real buzz of excitement about everything Claire discussed. It was really lovely to be part of this.

Claire also quotes on her website that women wear 20% of their wardrobe. I have been chatting to my clients about this and no one was shocked. Just said yeah I would agree with that! So if Claire can increase that percentage of what I wear in my wardrobe it’s money very well spent! I wonder how many of us have clothes we have never worn hanging up? I am sure I have wasted hundreds on clothes that I wear a few times and then realise they just don’t suit me.

The evening started in the kitchen, which is always a good start! The food was divine and the chefs clearly care a great deal about their job. Well presented and again a very personal experience. It was an open kitchen, so you can easily chat with the chefs about the food etc.

Taken off Imagine spa website. The tables are in the kitchen, which adds a great personal touch.

The spa is fabulous!!  They may not have as many spa rooms as say centre parcs, but they really do makeup with it by having well trained and attentive staff. To be honest, when I went to centre parcs spa with the girls it was so busy and incredible amount of room that we rushed around trying to try out every single room, which was exhausting! Imagine spa in Blofield has a central jacuzzi with two steam type rooms, mudroom (which is privately hired) and lots of relaxation areas around it. Because Imagine spa only allows up to 16 at the very very max, which was perfect. There is no pool, but I didn’t miss it at all. The last thing I was to be doing on a spa relaxation day is doing lengths anyway! Just outside the spa area is a beautiful garden with two relaxation pods. Also bear in mind that with people having treatments done and eating their lovely food that it’s very unlikely that everyone would be in the same area, so it really did feel like a private spa and not a public swimming pool!

Central hydrotherapy bath with all the normal steam rooms, ice, shower etc surround it.

The treatments rooms all looked amazing and each one themed after flowers, so they had rose, lavendar etc. Each room has dimmed lighting with private shower. They have one of those amazing massaging beds which I tried out at the beauty show in London a few years back and I have to say even the 3 minutes I got on it at the beauty show was complete heaven. I will definitely be going back to Imagine spa to have a full 20 minutes on it! The massaging bed has jets of water which are carefully programmed to remove the knots build up in your back from day to day tension. Another room they had there was a body scrub room, which as a warm shower hose build into the table for afterwards. I have never had this treatment, but a few of my clients have and said it’s heavenly.

Going back to the not normally open on Tuesday night comment I made earlier. As the spa isn’t normally open to the general public on Tuesday evening, they are extremely flexible with what they can offer on this evening. For a min of around 10 people, they will let you hire out the whole spa for £20 each!! Which for a hen do would be absolutely perfect. They can do you a deal of champagne on arrival with food etc, if you wish too. At £20 each this is amazing! I often find hen dos too expensive nowadays, but this really does cater for everyone’s budget. Treatments would be This would obviously cost extra on top, but just laying around enjoying the spa is enough for some people. Also you could hire out the place as a couple. They really are flexible on what they offer, so don’t be shy to ask. I must admit I was very surprised by this as I didn’t get this feeling from their website.

Their twilight package is the package that really got my attention. Me and Emma who I took with me to the spa evening both said that this is a perfect idea for us both to meet up in the evening after the kids have gone to sleep. At only £20 each it would be cheaper than us meeting in Norwich. Also it is only 15/ 20 minutes drive from Norwich city centre, so ideal location. Actually, we are both planning on going there again on a Tuesday night for their make-up session and use of the spa. They hold many of these different evenings there.

My only real negative comment was there is no instructions on how to use the thermal suites correctly or timers inside the room. I believe to get the full benefit from these rooms you should do three 15 minute treatments in there.

So overall conclusion is that I will be going back to Imagine spa in Blofield and actually already booking up for their presentation on make-up!! The Make-up evening on the 9th Dec is £20 that includes the Make-Up demonstration and Spa – £10 from the £20 paid Can go towards a make-up product on the night – arrival 5.30pm.
