I spent Bank holiday Monday at Foxley Woods in Norfolk with my partner, Andy, and Mum. It’s a lovely place to have an afternoon walk along the bluebell trail. It’s clearly signposted and easy to follow. Highly recommended for a free family day out and to get some exercise.
Sat nav: NR20 4QR
A lot of people parked on the side of the road, but they do actually have their own free car park if you drive a little further into the woods.
No dogs allowed.
Best time to visit – Mar – Jul & Sep – Nov
Easy to follow paths with signs and maps.
16 miles from Norwich – 30 minute drive.
The only scary part of the walk was when Jessica rushed over and put both hands on the electric fence!! Lucky for us it was solar powered and wasn’t working at the time. However when we walked back we could hear it pulsing, so it must work sometimes! No idea what it’s protecting, but be careful if little hands near it.
I highly recommend you taking the pushchair as Jessica was extremely tired by the end of the walk and is at the awkward age to carry back as she can’t keep still. The path is wide enough for a pushchair although I wouldn’t want to take it on a wet day.
My partner’s photographs of the day are below pop over and visit his website at Andy Dane photography.
